This expression is usually said or depicted when stories start with a main character who lacks the quality and traits of a main character.
Example: A MC that lacks power, magic, talent, OP skills, Cheat skills, influence, fame, a HAREM, and anything that a person watching anime would said that such qualities belong to a main character in the beginning of a story/adventure.
