A desperation tactic used in an argument or debate whereby proof of the speaker's wrongness is somehow held up by the speaker as proof of his rightness.

Manny: I utterly hate homosexuals. They are an affront to God and man. Except for Rick Astley. I could go down on THAT guy all night! I'd same-sex marry him in a heartbeat.

Moe: I thought you said you hated homosexuals?

Manny: Well, he's the exception that proves the rule.

Poverty Belt

Poverty Belt is a growing term being used by people who live in the northeastern US to describe Central New York. Central New York is a geographical region of upstate New York which lies between the Catskill mountains and the Adirondacks. It is comprised of the cities Albany, Utica, Syracuse, Binghamton, Buffalo and Rochester (which is often referred to as Crotch-Chester). Common characteristics of this region which account for the name include scarcity of jobs, high unemployment, a shrinking population and a crumbling infrastructure. The "belt" part of the term comes from the way the aforementioned cities are horizontally situated close to the New York state thruway which runs from East to West through the middle part of the state.

Has the same meaning as preventable, but used only when too stupid to know the proper suffix

provert

"Pro" means "for" as in for something.
"Vert" means to turn.
"provert" in favor of truning.

Thus a provert is a person for gain or pleasure, may knowingly causes the unwanted turning of a victim down a certain path of events which leads to perversity. A creator of perverts.

The adult provert (who was mad at the store)dared a small kid to toss a rock through the store window. Then from a distance, watched the kid do it and get punished for it .

The proverted interrogator asked the innocent suspect if the suspect has ever stopped stealing from his employer (logical fallacy called a compound question). Knowing that either a yes or no answer will make the suspect look guilty to his employer but make the interrogator look good.
