"Out of the blue" is an informal English language idiom that describes an event that occurs unexpectedly, without any warning or preparation. It is used as an adverb. The "blue" in the phrase refers to the sky, one from which a sudden thunderstorm is unexpected.

When you've been wearing your mask for too many hours, and are sweaty, light headed, ready to risk fines or even COVID-19....well, ready to risk anything other that someone else's well being.
After being in meetings all day I am masked-out and just want to rip this off my face! I would rather stay socially distanced at home alone than have to wear this one more minute.
