Bleeding Heart Liberal

Bleeding Heart"A person who is considered excessively sympathetic toward those who claim to be underprivileged or exploited."

Liberal"Of, relating to, or characteristic of liberalism."

Liberalism" A political theory founded on the natural goodness of humans and the autonomy of the individual and favoring civil and political liberties, government by law with the consent of the governed, and protection from arbitrary authority."

So from this, we can gather that a "bleeding heart liberal" is an individual that aligns themselves with the Liberal party(aka left), and is particularly sympathetic to the underprivileged class. Oftentimes this phrase is misused to denote any far-left individual. Ironically, some far-leftist are anything but liberals at all, but most have some bleeding heart tenancies.

"That bleeding heart liberal jury let a rapist go with six years in an institution."

"The Governor got re-elected by pushing his bleeding heart liberal views, and got the sway vote from the lower-class."

Niles Crane (from Frasier) is a closet librarian. There are many others who have not yet come out.

what makes a libaru a libaru? a politically left leaning, subaru driving individual, most likely to have a peace sign or obamo '08 bumper sticker on their car; usually a middle-aged woman with salt and pepper hair, a male libaru is usally a very outspoken individual centering most conversations around climate change, some libarus were previously hippies in their younger years; very common in the western massachusets/vermont area but can be found in other concentrated areas across the countries; it is very common for libarus to have NPR set as their #1 radio station; the most common hobby for libarus is birdwatching

there was a large flock of libarus at the audobon society.

a phenomenon often observed by students at Oxford University - similar to beer goggles, but produced by prolonged periods in the library and a of lack of social interaction.
This lasts for up to 78 seconds after leaving the library and causes all girls, no matter how ugly, to appear dazzlingly attractive.
