Relevant to some

A euphemism used in sportscasting to indicate a score late in the game that does not meaningfully change the outcome of the game, but DOES change the outcome of gambling bets that depend on point totals or differences therein.
So, while a victory is still out of reach, the Owls touchdown in the last minute of the game brings them to within 10, in a move that is relevant to some.
