Pinkie promise

The most sacred promise anyone can give. When broken, you lose your friend forever. The pinkie promise is done by uttering a chant and doing the motions

AJ: you bettar not tell Twi that ah lost her book. Y'all know what happened last time thayt happened.

RD: Pinkie promise. Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.

RD crosses a hoof over her heart, opened her wings and gave a flap, and put a hoof to her eye.

AJ: thanks, Dash. Ah really don't know what ah'd do without y'all.

RD: no problem, pal.

*later*

RD listened to Twi talk about her new book she lent to AJ. She bit her lip, and opened her mouth to confess. Suddenly, Pinkie sprung out of a potted plant

Pinkie: you'll lose them. Foreeeeeevveeeerrrrr
She slowly disappeared into the plant.

RD: don't question it...

The Prodigal Knight

The nickname of Master Revan from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for Xbox and PC, given to him/her after successfully defeating Darth Malak, destroying the Star Forge, and bringing balance to the Force and justice to the galaxy. The significance of the name refers to how Revan was originally captured as a Sith Lord, brought back from the brink of death by Bastila, had his/her memory erased and rewritten, regained his/her memories of the Star Forge and of being Dark Lord of the Sith, remaining a Jedi despite the resurfacing memories, mastering the force...and so on. The point is, Revan was going to conquer the galaxy as a Sith Lord, and ended up saving it as a Jedi.

Master Vandar: We Jedi now have another tale to weave into the grand history of hour eternal Order - the Redemption of Revan, the prodigal knight.

Half promise

A made up expression when someone is trying to avoid committing to a "full" promise, so they have an excuse (loop hole) when they don't do what they have "half promised". A glorified way of saying "maybe".

Persons who tend to try to get away with using a "half promise" are:

a) Those who will not promise often, because they take them very seriously, and are a person of their word.

b) Those who are not good at keeping promises.

Note: In final reiteration, do not be fooled, this is not an acceptable form of promise.

Amanda: Will you clean the kitchen later?
Nick Ross: Yes.
Amanda: Promise?
Nick Ross: I half promise.
Amanda: That's not even a real thing! This isn't a 50/50 game!
Nick Ross: I knew that wouldn't work!
