Get the Phlack mug.An alternative to the "f-word" used only around, and in the presence of horses, particularly (but not limited to) at the races. The word was first coined (allegedly) by Dr Aubrey Ping in 1928, when he came up with an awesome name for a famous racehorse at the time (Farlap).
However, Harry Telford insisted that the name needed to have 7 letters, thus changing "Farlap" to "Pharlap". Dr Ping was so pissed, he thought to himself "what the phark?!" before letting Telford know what he thought of the decision, telling him to "phark off!".
