antisocial networking

A term used to describe people who rarely, if ever visit social networking sites because they have better things to do with their time. They limit their activity to 30 minutes a day. They avoid habits like changing their profile picture daily and putting every thought they have on Twitter. Most don't have an Instagram account, but the few that do avoid uploading pictures that make it seem like they're showing off.

Mike: I'm antisocial networking.

Janet: I'm impressed.

Antisocial

Antisocial is a term in psychology for people with antisocial personality disorders who have a pattern of disregard and violation for people. In order to be labeled antisocial, there is a set of indicators which can be seen on the DSM Versions, (Diagnostic Statistical Manual-- currently on the 5th version) a book containing mental disorders and their indicators.

Commonly mistaken with the term 'asocial' which generally pertains to people who are socially withdrawn. Antisocial people may have asocial tendencies, though the former is in a much greater degree, as the person can progress to criminal acts such as - theft, murder and others.

*** other people and dictionaries are putting not social-- or shy and withdrawn, most probably because of the prefix - 'anti', though widely acceptable in the general population (or mostly used- and interpreted that way), it might cause confusion- and sometimes distrust from people who knows the real difference. (I mean- if you refer to yourself as 'antisocial' you're basically portraying yourself as a dangerous person, well your preference really.)
Correct: My son just got clinically diagnosed as an antisocial, we're having him take therapies now, its for the best.

Incorrect: I'm sorry, I really just don't know how to communicate to people, I'm antisocial.
