Scapegoat

If people can't find one, they make one up (I'm not responsible for my actions, Satan is).
Satan became their scapegoat when they couldn't find a non fictional one.

Scapegoat

A person who is blamed for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others.
A project at a company fails due to poor management decisions, unrealistic timelines, and insufficient resources. Instead of the management taking responsibility for these systemic issues, they blame the project's lead developer for the poor code quality and missed deadlines, effectively using them as a scapegoat to avoid scrutiny of their own planning.

Scapegoat Speeder

The term used to describe the occurance in which traffic is moving 15mph more than it should, yet one car is going 20-30 mph faster, and therefore the one pulled over by the cops. In otherwords, when everyone is speeding, but the one speeding the most would be the 'scapegoat' speeder.
Person 1: "Dude I was going 70 in a 55 the other day but there was another guy that got busted doing 80."
Person2: "Good thing you had that scapegoat speeder!"

Scapegoat Tab

A new tab created within an internet browser used to escape to when looking at porn. Works great when there is a possibility of someone walking into the room that shouldn't see porn on the computer screen.
Oh jeeze, those tits are awesome!
-mom appears out of nowhere-
-clicks onto scapegoat tab-
Mom: What are you looking at sonny?

You: Oh, just urban dictionary. :)

scapegoat capitalism

when a good or service is provided by two separate companies in partnership, and when something goes wrong company A tells you to reach out to company B and company B tells you to reach out to company A.
I went to Apple because I was having a problem with my iPhone and they told me I had to go to the AT&T store to fix it. I went to the AT&T store and they told me to go back to Apple. Typical scapegoat capitalism.

I ordered food on Uber Eats, but it never came. I called their customer service line and they told me to reach out to the restaurant. When I called the restaurant they told me I should reach out to my Uber Eats driver. True scapegoat capitalism at work.

scapegoat mantra

1.)A repeated source of blame found all over every form of mainstream news particularly after a violent or heartbreaking event occurs.

Prime examples of scapegoat Mantra include: video games, heavy metal, rap music, violent movies, pornography, Elvis Presley, Beethoven, virtually anything except for the actual reasoning behind said occurrence- If there is a reason to be found at all.

2.) The action that occurs after something as vile as a school shooting in which the media and ultra right-wing conservatives grasp for Ozzy Osbourne / Marilyn Manson / Mortal Kombat character shaped straws.
After Columbine everybody including Sally Jesse Raphael, Phil Donahue, and every Trainwreck talk show host had the same scapegoat mantra. Instead of looking at the desperation placed before us on every News Channel, magazine article, or front page of damn near every newspaper, they blamed Marilyn Manson.
