Local Cleveland slang for the inner-ring suburb of East
Cleveland, Ohio. EC is split up into two parts separated roughly by Terrace Road. The side to the east of Terrace is called
Forest Hills, and is in fact a beautiful middle class
neighborhood that was originally planned in the earlier 1900s by John D. Rockefeller. The other side, however, is known for being one of the roughest and most impoverished ghettos in the state, if not the country, and it makes Youngstown and Glenville look like a daycare. This side is usually what comes into mind when people hear about EC, and when you hear locals referring to "EC", this is what they're most likely talking about.
