Giancarlo

The act of removing the glowing tip of a lit cigarette by rubbing it against a hard surface, extinguishing it completely before proceeding to put it back in your pack. The need to carry out a 'Giancarlo' is primarily a result of wanting to enter a non-smoking area, to hide a cigarette from your elders without having to throw it away, or simply because you do not wish to smoke anymore.

The bus came much earlier than expected, so I had to quickly run to the nearest concrete wall and pull a Giancarlo on my cigarette.
