Edgewater Park, NJ

Is a small town that uses the same area code as Beverly. This town doesn't have a high school and the elementary and middle school are about 1 mile apart. In the E.P. schools there are only about 300 students in each. The school does have bus transportation and depending on the distance away from the school, you can walk. The town itself has about 5 parks/memorials. Edgewater Park doesn't have a football field but a flag football team. Most of the sports are played under the E.P.A.A.(Edgewater Park Athletic Association). The E.P.A.A. allows you to play baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, cheerleading, and flag football. You can also play sports for school also. The school allows you to play baseball, basketball, softball, and cheerleading.

The town's food resources, are McDonald's, 2 Deli, Big Lots, Green Cafe, 7Eleven, Dollar Store, Rite Aid, and PathMark. The people in the town aren't all bad people and the gang rate isn't high. The total area of Edgewater Park is 3.0 square miles. The total population is about 8,000. This town has 3 sets of apartments.

Edgewater Parks transportation is the NJ Transit Train and the NJ Transit Bus.

Straight-Edge

A movement that took it's name from the Minor Threat song of the same name. This movement is largely credited to Ian MacKaye (Teen Idles, Minor Threat, Egg Hunt, Fugazi). While he is a founding member of the straight-edge movement he did not magically create a new way of life. There were people who chose to absatain from drugs, alcohol, and promiscuous sex before the Minor Threat song believe it or not. There is much debate over what the exact definition of a drug is and there is no exact answer. Each practitioner of the straight-edge lifestyle creates their own personalized definition. While straight-edge as a lifestyle (not a movement) was intended to be a positive force it quickly became a dividing force in the underground and violence erupted from it. Not to mention the all-too-common sense of superiority that often (unfortuneately) accompanies this this lifestyle. The 'x' markings on the hands originated as a result of people showing that they willingly chose not to drink. Many people believe that militant straight-edge is called "hardline". This is not true. Hardline is a set of six rules that state in addition to no drugs, alcohol, or sex you also must eat in accordance with a vegan diet, avoid cursing, and not take medicine. Straight-edge is not a movement for people who aren't tough enough for drinking and drugs but for those who have grown frustrated with a lifestyle dominated by those elements.

the feminine edge

the feminine edge includes certain characteristics of a heterosexual male that could be described as feminine such as excellent hygiene, use of body products, the ability to create coordinated outfits, etc., that give said male an edge in his ability to appeal to women while retaining his masculinity. The feminine edge distinguishes itself from metrosexuality in that it does not go as far in its femininity and does not embody narcissistic assumptions.
