You have someone describe being shot as a bit of humor no that's dead wrong. This is more realistic as we're talking about what happened on ABC 7 Chicago when one took down four then other was suicide by Rent-a-badge. I am sorry but those who describe a 'shot' as something of a joke An Eye In Shadows gives this darker undercurrent because it happens every day in DuPage County in the 1990s.
