Thrash Metal

Thrash Metal is not Speed Metal. Many confuse the two genres. Thrash Metal started in the early 80's with bands like Metallica and Overkill. Thrash has a strong hardcore punk influence, while Speed Metal is mainly a faster version of traditional heavy metal. I read somewhere someone was saying Megadeth is speed metal. Not True! They are Thrash. Thrash Metal and Speed Metal are two completely different genres. Thrash has had influence on the more extreme genres and didn't show up until quite a few years after Speed Metal which started to surface in the late 70's.

Metal Gear

A gigantic nuclear capable bipedal tank. Designed to be able to launch a nuke anywhere on the planet thus giving its user an great advantage in undetectable first strike capability. Often terrorist seize these powerful weapons and have to be stopped by the player (Solid Snake, Raiden, Big Boss).

death metal

Actually, Death Metal isn't simply about satan/death/killing ect. Grindcore/death metal masters NAPALM DEATH have had a long history of political statments in thier music. The afformentioned Satan enlightens and brings forth religious ideas and concepts. In reality, Death Metal can be inteligent. However, bands like Obituary and Cannibal Corpse stay true to the no-brains-kill-em-all style, (good fun) but try not to tar all music of one genre with the same brush.

I so wish your thinking power wasn't fueled by ignorance.

Beard Metal

A style of music that combines 70s stoner rock with hard rock and metal guitar riffs and beats, beard metal began its rise to popularity somewhere around 2005 and has only grown thanks to bands like Mastodon, Turbonegro and Valient Thorr. Galloping metal breakdowns and their masterful use of the twin- guitar melodies (ala Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden) make this genre of music a welcome breath of fresh air for hard rock and metal fans who have watched their beloved music drift into obscurity over the years as rock became a watered-down commodity for record labels in search of the almighty dollar, producing bands like Nickleback and other alternative radio nonsense. Most of these bands have at least one or two members with beards, but a beard is not necessarily required.

Beard Metal bands include: Valient Thorr, Priestess, Mastodon, Turbonegro, High on Fire, Early Man, The Sword, Fu Manchu, Bison, Baroness, Black Cobra.
