African-American

‘I’m not frickin’ African American. I’m American. I have never been to Africa, and I never want to. I can barely tell you five countries in the stupid place.’

Black people aren’t offended by the word ‘black’. Only white people are. Which makes no sense whatsoever. Truthfully, if you came up to me and called me an ‘African American’ then I’d be offended, but if you called me ‘black’ I probably wouldn’t even notice.

american tour

A tour where one goes to visit Boston, New York and Cleveland.
Must not be confused with "European Tour", where one typically would go see stuff that is more than 100 years old.
Oh man, my American Tour was so awesome! I went to see all these homogeneous places, that all look the same!
Though my favourite was Cleveland - the most cultured place on the planet.

American Bulldog

True grit. True devotion. True love. These tributes are used often to describe the American Bulldog -- a hardy, athletic, all-purpose working dog. The American Bulldog is a loving family companion, good with children and other pets, yet at the same time, fearlessly determined. It has been known to display heroic acts of courage in protecting its master. The American Bulldog has also been used to hunt everything from squirrel to bear, and has been trained to drive cattle and guard stock from predators. The American Bulldog should be evaluated as a working dog, and exaggerations or faults should be penalized in proportion to how much they interfere with the dogs ability to work.

Bulldogs in England were originally working dogs who drove and caught cattle and guarded their masters' property. At one time, the breed was used in the grueling sport of bull baiting. With the outlawing of the sport in England in 1835, the original type of Bulldog disappeared from Britain and was replaced with the less athletic dog we now know as the English Bulldog. Yet the original Bulldog was preserved by immigrants who brought their working dogs with them to the American South. By the end of World War II, the last remnants of the working English Bulldog were disappearing in the U.S. Thanks to the breeding programs of John D. Johnson and Allen Scott, the breed was brought back from the brink of extinction.
The essential characteristics of the American Bulldog are those which enable it to work as a hog and cattle catching dog, and a protector of personal property. These tasks require a powerful, agile, confident dog with a large head and powerful jaws. The American Bulldog is a gentle, loving family companion who is fearless enough to face an angry bull or a human intruder; Good with children; Good with pets.

As American as Hot Dogs and Hip Hop

Derived from the phrase "As American as hot dogs and apple pie". Both hotdogs and Hip Hop were originated in America, Hip Hop started in the South Bronx.
Once there was a street artist who got busted by a cop. The intricate graffiti was displaying George W. Bush as a mass murderer, with a chainsaw, attacking cripples and little nerd children. And then the cop went ape shit. Or... pig shit.
Cop: This is filthy! Like a wall of... turds! Filthy! You're bashing The Dubbya.
Graf Writer: Its symbolic. It shows Bush killing all the innocents... with this war that cousin-fucking hillbilly started.
Cop: You little... spraypaintin'... turd! You are Un-American!! Bashin' the Dubbya!
Graf Writer: I'm as American as hot dogs and Hip Hop.

Palin-American

An individual who distrusts intellectual discourse, logical reasoning in the classical definition, or academically peer-reviewed scientific studies and theories, in favor of hyperbolic one-liners and empirical evidence. Often dismissive of anybody with an accredited higher education degree, and extremely hostile to those who exhibit PhD credentials. Generally applies to people of a politically conservative (e.g. US Tea Party, US Republican Party), due to the popularization of former Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. Technically applicable to those of a more progressive bent, but a different slur is usually more appropriate. (see stupid-ass liberal)
John is a Palin-American through and through. I can understand if he's skeptical of global warming and evolution, but he doesn't seem to understand that his protest signs with misspelled racial slurs only makes him look like a tool.
