One Verse Charlie is a person who takes one verse or small portion of scripture and builds his/her entire theology around it. Not properly exegeting or taking into account the surrounding text, history, politics, geography, etc...

John Doe believes that Jesus came not to bring peace but a sword, forgetting that Jesus said love thy neighbor. He is such a one verse Charlie.
