corporatism

corporatism is something a lot of people on UD get wrong, it's not rule of the corporations. this misinterpretation happens when people see the prefix "corp" and suffix "ism", and they automatically assume "rule of the corporations" while this is not true. corporatism is third position economics which is rejecting both capitalism and communism. capitalism is made for individualism while corporatism is collectivism. corporatism calls for worker unions and class collaboration, while capitalism does not (inherently).

Communist: Dude the United States is corporatist.

Chad Corporatist: WHAT? That's not what corporatism is at all, just because you hear "corp" and "ism", doesn't mean it's rule of the corporations. Corporatist is collectivist and advocates for worker rights, but it is anti-communist and anti-capitalist. It still allows private ownership like private property (as a commodity).

CorporateTube

A website once known as 'YouTube' that claimed anyone in the world could "broadcast" themselves freely without being a subject to consumer-related pander. This once innocent and playful website has since morphed into an extravagant sell-out and media vehicle of shameless marketing executives. Users are now forced to constantly press 'F5' or close the 'ad box' whenever they (try) to watch a video.

"Oh you want to subject me to an ad? I'll never buy this product AND I won't watch it. That will show CorporateTube." *hits F5 and it doesn't work* "FUUUUUUUUU-"

*Sits back to watch video on full screen* ... five seconds later... "FUCKING AD BOX!"

Something Corporate

A band that, regardless of senseless bashing, is a truly amazing band that has created music that goes beyond the ordinary definition of a band from it's era, touches all aspects of music worth focusing on, and defines emotions that I have found no other band to be able to do. The lead singer, Andrew McMahon has also branched off to his side project, "Jack's Mannequin", which focuses more on the piano than "Something Coporate", and also is a plain amazing band that is definitely worth checking out.

"I went to that Something Corporate concert last night, and I can honestly say I've never seen such an awesome band before."
