Standard shock

The weird mixture of surprise, resentment and anxiety you get when someone mentions having standards that are a lot higher than your own.

“I’m not exactly a great student,” John said.

“Neither am I,” Steven replied. “I feel really average — my GPA is only 3.48!”

John, whose GPA was 2.1, had a standard shock. He didn’t want Steven to think he was a dumbass, and so changed the subject of the conversation.

“How much do you bench?” Andrew asked Ryan.

“Hmm, not much at all. 220 pounds,” Ryan said.

Andrew, who could only lift 160 at best, had a standard shock.

“Yeah, I’m getting there but at the moment I can just do 210,” he replied.

Weiner Standard Time

The act of being too late to be fashionably late. This usually occurs when pickup is necessary by a Weiner. If you are getting picked up in 1 minute WST, you may as well walk home.The simple formula to calculate WST in your current time zone is:
Current Time ÷ pi x 4.

There is also a Weiner Minute, which is one minute in WST.

Mom, can you pick me up?

Sure thing! I'll pick you up at 9:30.

Is that Weiner Standard Time?

Yes

O.K. Mom! See you at 12:06!

the standard average play is usually the best play available in poker. the standard average play, or SAP, was developed as a kind of anti-dote to The Fancy Play Syndrome. the Standard Average Play is what a SAP, or "normal" person might do, if that normal person thought through what was actually occurring in the moment at the table AND the Standard Average Play is what every Pro should be looking for, and should know, at any given point in the play of a hand. the Standard Average Play was developed by William Edward Harding and Kurt Dewhurst, two well-known Las Vegas Poker personalities.

you know, rather than trying to out-think everybody all the time and look like a genius, you might benefit from simply asking: "what's the standard average play here?" the standard average play is usually good enough, and usually where you're head should be.

Perfectly Standard Elevator: Reloaded

Perfectly Standard Elevator: Reloaded (PSE:R) is a new elevator game which is currently in BETA that started development in December 2021. The game is developed by Zeno (Zenotrlk) and others. It is a remake of a game that was popular around 2016-2019 named 'Perfectly Standard Elevator') - (PSE) made by Jukereise (who was used to be named Jupiter_Five), who is now known for creating JTOH - Juke's Towers Of Hell. PSE:R is just as unique as PSE. It still includes bosses, secrets, etc. But it has way more new features and mechanics, making it even more unique then the original PSE. PSE:R might become popular in the future. The game is fun. Go try it out. (but admittedly sometimes boring - probably because the game has a low amount of players, but, it's still enjoyable when you're playing on your own. For me, I prefer more players to play with - but we'll see more players in the future so it's fine)
