Portal

used as a single encompassing sentence/exclamation, to describe a site/object of historic, architectural or artist value, also used as a description as an activity, or reason.

This word started as a description from the game 'ingress' and has now evolved to mean pretty much anything to do with the game, including reasons to play, taking long detours, higher than average phone bills, late for social events,

It can even describe the effect done by people that submit lots of new portals, or the effect of an area after lots have been approved, often putting the fear of god in players afraid to open their scanners.....
"the fear of being portaled"

"why were you so late getting milk?"
"portal..."
"what are you doing up so late on your phone?"

"why are we driving this way..."

"portal...."

renting portals

Ingress term
To rent a portal is to go into an opposite factions area & use a virus to flip it. The opposing faction can always flip back after an hour to regain control. This is is usually done to level 8 portals.
