Iggy Pop 

Real name James Oaserberg or something like that. Iggy b/c he was drummer (yes drummer) in a band called the Iguanas. After seeing the Doors in concert, was mezmerized and started his own band, the Stooges, which inspired all punk bands and basically there would be no punk without them, but they were not punk, there's no genre for that level of greatness. The first punk band that was punk, not proto-punk, was the Ramones. Not Stooges MC5 or Velvet Underground, tho they laid out the basics.

A style of dance music that is considered an extension of conventional Pop that uses visual artistic references and homages to previous outside-the-box groundbreaking pop artists.

Art Pop is a genre being introduced as an extension of mainstream Pop.

Schizo-pop 

A type of pop music that is defined by its distinct use of many varied influences.

Bastard Pop 

Sometimes known as bootlegs this now infamous style of music has been around aslong as it has been poosible for anyone to get their hands on a mixer and/or recording software and learn how to use it.

The Style was first seen in Ibiza where DJ's would mix and old fave song with a new song - bringing fresh new sound. Recently the style has progressed massivly with people like "Poj Masta" starting to use "Aphex Twin" style mixing programmes to produce the slickest glitch and bootleg tracks the world has ever seen.

Others say that this style has only just become popular - mainly becuase of the RIAA's constant copyright grabbing. As bootlegging is Illigal it is still officially a crime - but most artists mind this less as some people feel inclined to buy their music after hearing a really good bootleg / Bastard Pop remix.

Brown Pop 

A soda consumed by men in thier early to mid 40's. Usually reference made by weird high school basketball coaches, referring to Brown Pop as detrimental to an athletes health.

C'mon Steven! You aren't getting rebounds, you're being lazy on defense, and you've been drinking brown pop!
