A highly precarious patching / rigging of any item or situation with improvised materials or ideas to get through or beyond an obstacle.

It's gonna take a whole lotta duct tape and bubble gum, but I think we can land it in the Hudson.

measuring tape game 

n. In order to play the measuring tape game all you need is a self retracting tape measure.

While seated in a chair or on the floor, you extend the tape vertically or horizontally as far as you can until it buckles under its own weight. Whoever extends it the farthest, wins.

The game is typically played while doing some sort of construction work.

Son: "Yes! I got 96 inches!"
Dad: "What the? Stop messing around. You have grout to lay."
Son: "Sure, dad, soon. I'm playing the measuring tape game."

Ghetto Tape

Ghetto tape has nothing to do with the word 'ghetto' other than the fact that it isn't high-quality or priced. Ghetto tape is any sticky, tape-like substance that is designed and named for use as a certain thing, then turned around and used as another.

My dad used gauze to cover my tennis racquet handle, instead of the normal tournagrip. Gauze, while being used for medicinal purposes, was now doubled as ghetto tape for tennis.

100mph tape 

Another name for duct tape. It was used on military airplanes and weapons, and still is today.
