One who uses a foil (a wing supported by a mast, connected to a board) to fly over the water, whether propelled by wind , electric, or surf energy.

All wingers, kiters, efoils or foilers who participate in foiling using a foil on a board or other manufactured platform are foil enthusiast one of who continues to perfect their ability and share with others are foilist.
