a true statement, accidently uttered in public, that is embarrassing and something everyone in earshot would rather ignore.

joe let go a little truth fart when he mentioned jenny's abortion. no one said anything but you could tell by their cringes that everyone smelled it.

speak truth to power

A phrase coined by the Quakers during in the mid-1950s. It was a call for the United States to stand firm against fascism and other forms of totalitarianism; it is a phrase that seems to unnerve political right, with reason.

The founders of United States risked their lives in order to speak truth to power, that of King George. It was and is considered courageous, although is more commonly scorned today.

Noun- One who rejects the accepted explanation of the events of 9/11. Truthers generally believe the U.S. government committed the acts of terrorism against itself.

BYU professor Steven Jones is perhaps the most famous truther.

Truth-Slang

Truth in it's extremist lucidity usually sounds like nonsensical ramblings to the uninitiated. Truth-slang is usually accompanied by extreme drunkenness and is accessed intermittently, more or less so depending on if you are Mark E Smith or Art Garfunkle.

Truth-Slanger "You see the real question here goes back to the American Civil War and the involvement in that of George Lucas, not so much as in he was in person 'there', but the ideas he uses in his films were apparent at that time and thus we can conclude he was there in spirit if you will. The heat in this case would be that of despair brought upon by economic strain. You see when I was a child....'
