indie folk

Bands that combine indie rock/pop and 50's/60's folk music of artists such as Bob Dylan and Nick Drake. Early artists include Will Oldham and Elliott Smith. There are a lot of indie bands that have folk influences like The Shins and Death Cab for Cutie, however these bands are not considered indie folk since they are not traditional folk bands due to the use synthesizers and keyboards and strong elements of other genres such as grunge, power pop and psychedelic rock.

Bright Eyes, Elliot Smith, The Dodos and Iron and Wine are all indie folk artists.

Indie Cindie

The female version of an 'indie kid', or 'indie limey'. Most often seen wearing polka dots and large bags over one shoulder. Also they might have messy 'bed hair' and perhaps wearing what's called an 'indie band' across their forehead, over a large sweeping fringe. Awkwardness and nerd-fashion is a must when it comes to indie cindies. Think Topshop when you think indie cindies; the style originated from shops like that, when girls began creating 'unique' fashion.

A Hadouken! song 'That Boy That Girl' has the lines "That girl's an indie cindie, lego haircut and a polkadot dress." in it.
Cassie from the TV series Skins is a good example.

to be made to feel teeny tiny, because you dont know of a particular band or musician that someone else claims everyone knows about.

"Man, some guy asked if I had heard of some band called 'The Negative Adjectives'. When I said no, he scoffed and walked away. I was totally indie'd!"

Indirect compliment

When some jackass is too afraid to say how they feel about somebody,so they use urban dictionary to do it without anyone knowing they said it.

An example of an indirect compliment would be:

Steve
The sweetest guy you will ever meet who is full of love and blah blah blah lots of random biased feelings about their imaginary boyfriend.

Seriously, if you right something like this on urban dictionary, then you are sad and pathetic.

Guitar Carrying Indie Fagboy

Someone that carries, or looks like they should be carrying a guitar on their back.
These type of people usually hang around people that are don't really like them and are usually extremely annoying.

"Hey, look at that kid carrying a guitar, hanging around with people that clearly don't like him!"
"Yeah, what a Guitar Carrying Indie Fagboy."

indirect TV

Indirect TV is another way to refer to the act of stealing cable.

I asked my neighbor across the hall if I could get a couple of eggs, and while he was retrieving them from the refrigerator I did a little bit of work on his cable box so I could get some indirect TV.
