In the sport of paintball - when a player "wipes" or clears a direct hit (an out) with their shirt, bunker, or the dirt with a slide in effort to play on.

Do you see that guy wiping his hit behind the bunker?
-It must've been one of those military sim mag-fed guys.

Used in terms of MMORPG where accounts are ussualy stored on server side. Delete whole database with all accounts (and characters) on particular server is called a WIPE of (or on) this server.
