There's a lot of stereotypes on here about this town. It's hard to tell if they're being tongue-in-cheek or what. But lemme tell you, not everyone from the greenwich area is rich and overprivileged. Cos Cob, Byram, Riverside, etc. aren't exactly super fancy. Don't get me wrong, they are good areas, but not everyone in greenwich grew up in mansions. I've worked since I was 15, and that was the way it was if I wanted anything of my own, like a car or $$ to hang out. I didnt go to private school or an Ivy league college. Hell, there's even projects in Byram. Are they as scary as ones in big cities? No, of course not, but it goes to show, there are parts of this town that aren't yacht clubs and shopping boutiques. It makes me mad when i tell people where i grew up and they assume i'm a trust-fund kid. My parents immigrated to the USA and ended up in Cos Cob by chance. They didn't come from $$ they just lucked out on a cheap living situation. I moved out years ago and live in a neighborhood with normal, working class people, thank god. Snobbery does exist in a lot of greenwich, but not EVERYONE is a popped-collar, yacht-clubbing blueblood. I also haven't lived there in almost 20 years, so things were a little different when I grew up.

rich town in fairfield county. I myself live in Greenwich, Ct. i have seen the kids abusing drugs. Yes there are many preppy toolish kids but a vast majority of the residents in Greenwich are normal and down to earth. The people here are wealthier than most but thats not the case for everyone.

A place where people are surrounded by wealth, and provided with a safety net of money so that they never have to strive for anything of consequence. Because no one ever has to work for anything that has to do with death or living, they are given ample time to make up new rules which they strive to live by and cannot cross ie. dress codes, and other blantant displays of wealth. People are so focused on these things that they become detached from actual living and focus all of there energy on living in a superfluous and materialistic world. However, if people took a step outside the bubble to see what is actually real, they would be able to, with all their FREEDOM and time, become great thinkers and use their minds to solve the greater problems in the world. So, by creating this world of wealth and materialism, the ignorant people of greenwich(which there are exceptions to) are distracting themselves from the world they live in and hurting themselves in the long run. Oh some of the reason why your parents are so rich is because they are brilliant people.

Full of rich bitches. I know not everyone one here is so rich but everyone acts like this. Popularity and social status is focused around one thing... money. It's stupid. It's our parents money not ours. Everyone calls everyone a slut, hoe and bitch. It's hard to find good people and good morals here.

ok so greenwich is THE most uber rich and preppy town on the east coast. it is filled with private schools and country clubs. everyone uses words like 'sketchy', 'uber', 'mad', or 'mad chill'. everyone wears lacoste, vineyard vines, lily, ralph lauren, j. crew and many other preppy labels. everyone here does sports, if u dont...wait no one doesnt do sports...the most popular ones r lacrosse, football, water polo (ummm ya its for girls too!!!), field hockey, and ice hockey. ok so there r some wild partys here but not everyone is always drunk and stoned. ok and we do sometimes push that we live in greenwich...im really not sure why...but watever, i luv it here!!!
greenwich is the place to be.

in this town you will not meet someone who's house is worth less than 1 million dollars-not even at public school. most of us smoke weed and all of us drink up a storm. we all have mexicans to do our gardening, and housekeepers to clean our gigantic homes. most of us have more than one home, more than three cars, and at least one country club membership. gala benifets occur so often if it unbelivable. the high school parking lot looks like the parking lot at a 5 star hotel, and if you don't own a polo shirt, then you are considered poor. you are also considered poor if you don't belong to any clubs.
