An emotion caused by an overstimulation of generally negative, turbulent events which leads to wanting to crawl under bed covers and curl up for a little while.

After a week of bad news for John, I could see his demeanour change. He came into work looking schlumfy.

Origin: A malapropism formed accidentally in a moment of extreme tiredness, by an American, combing the German word for sleep "schlafen" with the German word for a Smurf, "schlumpf".
