Proshipper is defined as an individual who holds a ship and let ship mentality, believing that fictional relationships are fiction and can't hurt real people. Includes a belief that relationships don't have to be depicted as 100% healthy in order to be engaging.

What antis think proship means: "Problematic shipping", including the depiction of unhealthy relationships, abuse, paedophilia, incest and more, with said latter terms being applied to relationships including age gaps where all characters are adults, or where an alternative view is that the characters are found family stuffed into a heteronormative box.

Myth: Every proshipper enjoys everything problematic from pedophilia to zoophilia.

Truth: Proshipper don't have to enjoy and may even strongly dislike all of those things, but simply doesn't support censorship, thinking that it is a responsibility of individual to curate their online space, and believes that uncensored existence of tags makes it easier to do so.

"No, it simply means I don't support censorship of fictional works because what is considered "problematic" can be defined to include whatever anyone wants it to be. I think fiction is allowed to be complex and explore all kinds of sensitive topics in all sorts of ways because that's what fiction is for. Not all fiction needs to be sanitised with the same rules as fiction for kids. I don't need a story to tell me what's good or wrong, sometimes I just want a story to be interesting."

A way to accuse someone of enjoying gross content just because they draw in a anime-ish artstyle, dont accuse people of being proshippers just because they draw in a cartoony way, you're harrassing another artist for no reason.
The label "Proshipper" shouldn't be thrown at people because you're accusing them of liking illegal and creepy relationships, unless theres actual proof they like those horrible ships, dont call someone a Proshipper.

This is the most common type a of proshipper.

This proshipper thinks that problematic ships such as abuse, incest, and/or pedophilia are ok to ship as long as it is completely fictional and tagged.

This type of proshipper will most likely not bring politics unrelated topics such as racism or queerphobia into the conversation.

A person who does not care for ships and content that is , what some may find, controversial. Such as; pedophilia or rape etc.
A pro shipper may read or see this content but they do not believe that there is anything wrong being done, as it is fictional.

Other people, known as antis, do not believe in this as it could be problematic and offensive to others who may have experienced these things in real life.

Pro shipper: "this content is not offensive it is fictional and the characters do not have actually trauma and emotions"

Antis: "well i believe this is wrong as it could be triggering or offensive to people who has experienced it first hand"
