Injun

Injun/Injin, is a racialslur used to dehumanize and humiliate indigenous Americans. Injun is the Native American equivalent to the n-word. Injun was originally coined by Christopher Columbus as he mistook the American Indigenous for west asian Indians. However unfortunate, the slur injun was and is only used against American Indigenous, meaning west asian Indians who do not have American Indigenous heritage cannot use it to reclaim it.

If you do not have American Indigenous heritage it is racially offensive to use the word injun.
Injun is not pronounced like “engine”

INJUN

In 1812 (from 1683 as 'Ingin'), a spelling representing the early American English colloquial pronunciation of Indian. "Honest Injun" as an asseveration of truthfulness was first recorded in 1868, from the notion of assurance extracted from Indians of their lack of deceitfulness in a particular situation. The noun phrase "honest Indian" itself is attested from 1676 in Massachusetts.

John T. McCutcheon, wrote and Illustrated "Injun Summer" in 1907 for the Chicago Tribune. It was reprinted yearly.

A method of drinking mentioned in an article in the great publication Modern Drunkard Magazine. Drinking injun style involves drinking hard liquor straight from the bottle, no chase, no glasses, no ice, much like poor injuns do.

Me and Jillian drank a whole whiskey bottle Injun style and woke up the next day wearing each other's clothes. It was awesome.
