Also known as a curling stick. A 3'-5' long rod typically with a cylinder on the end that slides over the handle of a curling rock. It is used to deliver a curling rock from a standing or upright position instead of delivering it by hand from a traditional sliding position. The term could be considered offensive or derrogatory as it implies that the user is a sissy for using it. Using a curling stick without a perceived need to use one is sometimes considered an unfair advantage. It is like parking in a handicapped parking spot: you better need it or you look like a cheat.
