Last ride

When a casket or urn containing the remains of a deceased individual are placed in the back of a hearse, and the rear door closed. Then begans a long and slow procession this is known as the last ride a person will ever take.

The funeral professional placed the bronze cube containing the cremains into the rear of the hearse and closed the rear door. Then a long line of cars left the funeral home at 15mph. This is a Last ride not to be confused with the Undertaker's finishing move.

When someone cancels on you last minute with a weak excuse. Very common among flaky people.

Scenario 1:
Brent "Hey Becki I'm almost there."

Becki "Oh sorry Brent, I can't hangout anymore. I have to go shopping with my friends mum"

Brent "Damn it Becki why do you always pull this last minute cancel bullshit!"
Scenario 2:
John"Oh hey Emily, I thought you were going out tonight?"
Emily"Nat pulled some last minute cancel bullshit on me. Said she had to wait in for her sisters parcel!"
John"Well that sucks, sorry mate"

Last straw

The latest in a series of distressing but regularly tolerated events that gives rise to the first obvious sign of intolerance towards the offending party, usually in the form of a drastic decision or the offer of an ultimatum. May have come from shortening the idiom/expression "the straw that breaks the camel's back", relating the distress caused by the offending party to stacking straw on the back of a camel over time until it collapses under the weight.

After a series of non-explicit infarctions, Jimmy McGill loudly disturbing his coworkers with his bagpipes is the last straw that forces Cliff Main to fire him from his law firm without cause.

Also known as "Last Place" is used in the context of when someone is the last person in a group of men to have his way with a woman, or man.

Person 1: "Max was the last person to smash Jacky of the group!"
Person 2: "He's always finishing last."
