hurry up and wait

The concept of making every effort to arrive at a location ahead of the appointed time, with the expectation of having to wait upon arrival. The purpose behind the concept is that it builds a large amount of time into one's schedule, therefore accounting for unexpected occurrences.

When we went to the airport for our vacation, we followed the "hurry up and wait" philosophy, arriving several hours prior to our flight.

hurlage

Hurlage is what comes out of your mouth when you hurl up your Aunt Sophie's special tuna casserole. Hurlage usually ends up in the bathroom, but can sometimes be found on the floor, walls, and ceiling leading to the john.

Vrin: Waht's the matter man?
Jadu: I just came back from Aunt Sophie's.
Vrin: No, don't tell me.
Jadu; Yeah.I hurled again after eating her tuna casserole. Hurlage was simply everywhere. Some even got on the dog and on her angel food cake.
Vrin: You okay?
Jadu: Kinda.
