An occurance in which someone leaves the room in rage or sadness for dramatic effect, often not finishing the afforementioned conversation. Can also be applied to chat rooms.

When you exit a relationship at its peak in order to avoid all the bad things associated with the downfall of a relationship. It may also be used to stay friends after a relationship.

"I can't believe Joe and Jill broke up! I thought they were so happy!!!"
"Yea well Joe pulled an HBO, he didn't think it could get any better, he was so happy, that he wanted to break it off and stay friends with Jill."

Pull An Avril

Usually means when a reputed band of the alt. rock persuasion who sells themselves out to make a mainstream, top 40 hit song or album.

The definition was derived from the popstar Avril Lavigne's own hypocrisy and stupidity on her own career. When she first debuted she was touted as the Anti-pop Britney, singer. But as her career progressed she changed her image and persona into something which contradicted her own thoughts and actions.

I hope Gwen Stefani doesn't pull an Avril on the next No Doubt comeback...She already sold herself out with that Sweet Escape album bullshit.
