A term used to describe a made-up phrase which means exactly the same thing as a more commonly-used word, but is less widely accepted by the society in which it is created; a neologism.

Whizzbong is a golmer I made up for basketball. Because who wants to use the term basketball? Whizzbong sounds cooler.

Also, golmer is a neologism for neologism.
