Halifax specific term, comes from arcade culture. Used to claim that some failure you made is not your fault, but instead can be attributed to your own state of fatigue coming from playing too much DDR. (Especially if you actually did attempt Healing Vision.)

Is not an excuse for a poor sense of direction.

faith healing

The term used to describe the process of curing a sickness by belief in a god instead of using scientific methods. This technique requires the belief that a miracle will happen.

1. Bill was relying on faith healing to cure his cancer when he went to the religious tent revival. He had given up regular medical treatment against the advice of his doctor.

2. Bob had given his problem of alcoholism to a higher power and was now relying on the spiritual faith healing of alcoholics anonymous to save him.

straw herring

When an argument is rebutted by saying it is both a 'red herring' and a 'straw man.' (Usually done at different times.) As the two fallacies are incongruent, this term itself will eventually be incorporated into informal logic as a fallacy.

My opponent's counter argument is a straw herring. First he claims my example is an irrelevant distraction from the topic, (red herring)then goes on to assert I created it using his words out of context so I could attack this erroneous extrapolation of his words and then declare victory. (straw man)
