Ghetto Tape

Ghetto tape has nothing to do with the word 'ghetto' other than the fact that it isn't high-quality or priced. Ghetto tape is any sticky, tape-like substance that is designed and named for use as a certain thing, then turned around and used as another.

My dad used gauze to cover my tennis racquet handle, instead of the normal tournagrip. Gauze, while being used for medicinal purposes, was now doubled as ghetto tape for tennis.

A phrase or saying for having a record or documentation of something that occurred/event. Does not have to be on a tape or VHS recorder, can be any type of media such as video, audio or photography. Any device can be used for this, even modern devices.

Emily busted her shit on the stairs. Her friend Janie laughs and says "I wish I had gotten that on tape!"
Therefore getting that on tape.

Staple Tape

Literal tape with staples in it. Does it make it better? According to the propaganda! (Staple Tape is not available in any stores and must be made by the user. Schools offer the supplies for free if the teachers aren’t looking.)

Person #1: My pants just ripped and scotch tape won’t hold them together. Do you have anything stronger?
Person #2: I’ll make some Staple Tape!
Person #1: Will it hold?
Person #2: Obviously, it’s Staple Tape!
