Basically when people hate on you for being honest or forthright with your opinions. You stand by your principals no matter what, this can often be misconstrued as having no regard for the feelings of others, but in reality only shows integrity and sincerity.

The Whipple Effect

The Whipple Effect is the gross misuse of time and resources in lieu of the obvious easy solution. This is often seen in television newsrooms. The perpetrator often is short and skinny with a mustache (IE he looks like Mr Whipple). His past experiences are marketed to the victims as "he knows everything".

Jack: "Why are there 5 photographers at this press conference?"
Jim: " Mr Whipple sent them all."
Jack: "Damn that's the Whipple effect right there!"

A dangerous social syndrome in which young, unsuspecting girls continue to find themselves attracted to an older, shifty boy, despite his obvious intentions to use them physically. The syndrome seems to be so far developed as to involve actual feelings of respect and admiration on the part of the young female victim.
