Shoremate

A term used by naval personnel to communicate with one another when not knowing the persons rank/rate/name. Unlike the term 'shipmate' this term is used while being in a shore duty station and is a more friendly, less aggressive term, and positive to accomplish a goal without seeming hostile .

Hey shoremate how's your day going?
Shoremate i noticed your blowsing strap came loose please fix it.
Shoremate duty section is secured you are relieved for liberty.
