Pronounced "Soff-adge" - To missinterpret the current field of understanding by basing claims entirely on the previous work in the field instead of the current-day advancements.

Examples: I do not mean to softage myself, but didn't apple have a better intentional design when it came to cybersecurity? You are softaging my friend, everytime you talk about databases you sound like Charles Backman (inventor of databases). I softaged myself by talking about the logo of a company that has since changed to a different designed logo.
