The cause of cynicism many adults have about the government’s actions regarding the financial sector.

Because the SecTreas is nothing more than a Goldman Sachs lackey, Americans believe that, generally speaking, the federal government is more concerned with making Wall Street firms profitable rather than making sure the financial system works well for all Americans.

Support for reforms by the government are polling badly because of the Geithner effect.
