Open-Short

A phantom troubleshooting term used by incompetent electricians to describe symptoms they don't undertstand.

Despite the switch being off, the open-short caused a huge buildup of current which popped the circuit breaker and caused an overload in the battery buss.

Open Notebook Test

When you're at home taking an online test that fills your entire computer screen, locking you in and preventing you from using that computer to search for the answers online, so you prop open a Notebook computer next to you with internet access.

Man that History test was wack. good thing I made it an open notebook test or i would've failed.

Open Mike

A rather unfortunately common misspelling of the phrase, "open mic" which is an event staged by bars & nightclubs allow ordinary people to go onstage and sing, tell dirty jokes, or spout off a bountifully overflowing cornucopia of toilet tongue just to try and liven up an otherwise dull house.

Seen in printed material only (such as a sign in a window); as "open mike" and, "open mic" are pronounced exactly the same.

Open the umbrella inside

An expression that depicts a psychologically painful act as shoving an umbrella into your ass and open it inside. It's like kicking one's butt, but much more painful.

This job is really sucks, plus my boss hates me, I feel like he is going to open the umbrella inside.
