Whether it's taking something apart like a flashlight or installing stereos. The big difference between someone teching out and a regular hobbyist is that the hobbyist is generally organized. The person teching out is going to make a huge mess approximately 90% of the time. Most likely won't accomplish what they set out to do and will more often than not, get frustrated and lose their temper quite easily.
The next door neighbour was outside teching out on his car stereo until 3 a.m. again last night. Bits and bobs of his car lay strewn about our cul-de-sac.
