(n.) Coffee connoisseurs, elites of the social cafe set. The well brewed, and well learnéd in the fine art of ordering, sipping and perhaps even making one's own perfect latte. These people are to coffee, what glitterati are to celebrities, and literati are to authors.

People who loiter in offices, cubicles, and public places and make knowing, often deprecating comments about their employers, co-workers, public figures, and other topics of general interest. Very often their opinions sound informed, but are not.
As I passed the break room, I overheard the loiterati discussing the company's new strategic plan, predicting failure and pink slips.
