(Idiom) You are working too slow.

The base is rather obviously World War Two, and the source is southern Britain, flooded by fleeing French with a Ze accent. The term was used by British towards French to make them work faster so there was a hope of liberation.

Germantown

Often referred to as Gtown, or the last bit of civilization before Frederick or Damascus. Germantown is a small town in Maryland with the most eclectic population of people ever. Rednecks, gangsters, preps, working joes, working stiffs and hippie’s all living together. Most locals are known for their ability to drink unsuspecting visitors under the table and then walk out on the check.

germanish

A pretend language comprised of poorly pronounced or spelt German by a native English speaker. The word can be either thought of as partly german (hense the -ish) or a mixture between German and English (German-English with "engl" removed). Common attempted german words include sehr, grob (instead of groß) and anything you might expect to have learnt in a year at school.
Person1: Ish bin sehr grob. Mein kat izt grob. Ich kan nisht spreken doitsh...

David Hasselhoff was one of the artists who performed on the stage of the big party in Berlin, back in the days the berlin wall - and with it the iron curtain - felt. Since then, the Hoff is a cult icon in Germany.
His song "i am looking for freedom" is still asociated with this happening and its zeitgeist.
Most germans know that its trashy kitsch kult about him, they take it with a smile.
