An acronym for "Electro house, Dubstep, Moombahcore." Typically used by inexperienced DJs and DAW jockeys to describe the style of music they are trying to produce.

"Hi, I'm a producer from the suburbs. I produce and DJ EDM music. EDM is my favorite kind of music and I want to be like Skrillex and Afrojack when I grow up. I pirate all my software because my mom won't increase my allowance."

EDM

1. Electronic Dance Music. A broad category to describe electronic music suitable for dancing including but not limited to house, trance, techno, drum and bass and any respective subgenres located therein.

2. Shorthand used by dance music noobs that don't want to accidentally trigger a dance music fandom with an incorrect assumption of a track's genre.

3. Generic term used to dumb down dance music when talking with someone that calls it doof doof or wubwub.

1. Deep house, acid house, French house and progressive house are four examples of house music, which is one of the oldest genres of EDM.
