To romantically connect social profiles, most notably facebook, wherein two people mutually change their relationship status with a link to each other's profile. From, when couples 'lock hands' when walking in public. It has become the norm for people to do this simultaneously or near-simultaneously as a soft announcement to their social circles that they are officially a couple.

I saw in my feed that Sam and Pat decided to lock profiles this morning.

Profile Housecleaning

Untagging yourself from less than desirable pictures on Facebook or deleting or changing certain aspects of your Facebook profile to make yourself seem cooler/better looking/funnier etc.

Person 1: Hey I tried to tag you in a couple photos from the new years album but it said you had already untagged yourself.

Person 2: Ya just doing a little profile housecleaning. I decided they were bringing my Facebook average down.

profile anxiety

When a female (or male) feels an unreasonable sense of anxiety when a photograph might be taken of their face (and/or nose) in profile, an angle they find most unflattering.

Susan: OMG, Rebecca, can you delete that photo from your facebook gallery? I hate my nose at that angle.
Rebecca: Susan, you really need to get over your profile anxiety.
