Sober as a fox

When one isn't willing to admit drunkenness, hence they express that they're sober as a fox. The fox denotes that they can remain streamlined and sly about their condition, when in fact they are more drunk than they are willing to admit.

Mom: "Tommy, have you been drinking tonight?"
Tommy: "Nah ma, I'm sober as a fox."

soberphobia

The feelng of distrust and discomfort that drunk people have around sober people. This could mean people that they live with or come across in social situations. The desire is to force the sober dude to have some drinks to catch up. This, in theory, should enable "common ground" to be established.

Anna pissed "Gez, have a tinnie, go on just one, go on, have a tinnie!"

Gez "Nah, I'm ok"

Anna "Oooh, go on gez, I've had a drink, go on, have a tinnie."

Dave "Blinkin' Nelly, I think Anna's got soberphobia!"

sober hang

a sober hang is a hang-out or catch-up with an individual that you met whilst drunk. often making out or other acts of drunken passion were involved in this night of drunk introduction. sober hangs are avoided by bro's at any cost.

the "pregaming" of the sober-hang is a good way to set the illusion that one is a genuinely caring human, hanging out with your new friend sober, whilst actually avoiding the awkwardness that 'sobreity' can cause after a night of extreme inebriation.
