Stupid rules that shouldn't exist. They say what people should and shouldn't do, based off their gender.

Matthew can't play with Barbies, or wear pink, because of gender roles, and because he's a boy.

gender bender

A gender bender is a person who seeks to define gender expression outside of the binary terms of man and woman.

This person may express their gender in a variety of ways such as cross-dressing and not adhereing to stereotypical, traditional, and/or cultural ideals and practices for their gender.

The person often believes in the thought system of gender and sex being separate. A person can be one sex, but express a gender that is usually not associated with that sex.

May also use gender neutral pronouns such as ze and hir.

Alex is a gender bender. Ze likes to play around with gender expression through clothes, hair styles, and attitudes. Ze doesn't let anyone define what hir gender is.

Gender Deaf

Where you only hear a person by some auditory means but can’t see them in person and you can’t identify their gender by how they sound. Could be because you weren’t paying attention or because the sound of the persons voice was especially feminine but his name was John. Could also be intentional so as to not offend someone by assuming they are a certain gender just by the sound of their voice.

geanelly

Geanelly is the kind of friend that would laugh for hours over something stupid, but would also be there for you when you are going through a tough time. Maybe, she won’t be able to give you the advice you need, or maybe she won’t know what to tell you, but you know she has your back. She is responsible, kind, and very smart, even if she won’t believe it herself. If you are friends with a Geanelly, just know you are very lucky.

Person A: I man so lucky to be friends with Geanelly.

Person B: Really?
Person A: Yea. Although she may not know what to say at times, you always get the sense that she’s there for you.
