You broke up Pantera!

Something you might say when there is no rational explanation or excuse for someone's bad behaviour. Comes from the statment yelled by a gunman who on December 8, 2004, attacked members of a band named Damageplan and its fans. Two of the members of Damageplan had previously been members of the band Pantera.
Dad: Why didn't you do your chores?
Son: You broke up Pantera!
Dad: !?

Panter

A portmanteau of the words pan and banter.

It is used to describe any and all forms of pan based banter and often in reference to having to down a boiling pan or multiple boiling pans of an alcoholic beverage.

The word was initially coined in Shakespeare's Hamlet and has become commonplace in the English language from the late 1600s onward.
Example 1:
Horatio was being a bloody lad and had to down 6 pans of vodka and kas ... panter (Hamelt, Act 2, Scene 5)

Example 2:
Lost your wallet - that's a pan
Overly large forehead - that's 2 pans
HIV positive - that's a pain
Brain damage - that's a pan to catch your dribble
Instrument for writing with ink - that's a pen

The above is panter.

pander

Noun: One who manages/solicits prostitutes, a pimp or procurer.

Verb: To procure prostitutes for customers.

To flatter or cajole people, to cater or appeal to their emotions/worries/prejudices/expectations for one's own gain; to engage in demagoguery.
The pander was slick in advertising his harlots, but I rushed off instead.

Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and the Tea Party pander to homophobia, the NRA, oil companies, capitalism/corporations, anti-immigrant groups, pro-life groups, any number of unworthy causes. Worse still, they combine that pandering with "American Values", "Family Values", and "Jesus"/"Christian Values", thus cheapening the integrity of a whole nation.

Some media pundit: "Joe the Plumber! Hockey Moms! Protect the Sanctity of Marriage, Protect the children! I love America...*sob* *sob*! Never Forget 9/11...!"

Some viewer: Enough of those shticks already! Don't pander to me!

Panera

A clean, upscale chain of restaurants primarily located on the eastern coast of America. They sell a variety of delicious, high-quality food from soups to sandwiches to desserts. Also featured are their fresh bread and healthy, low-carb options.

Contrary to what the other commenter stated, Panera is never out of stock when I go there.
The food place where yuppies stand on long lines and furiously press the buttons on their Motorola phones as they attempt to order a sandwich.

DeTomaso Pantera

Ford powered midengine 2-seater, USA: 1971-1974. Europe: until about 1996. Originally a joint venture between Ford Motor Company USA and DeTomaso Automobili of Italy. Ford was enamoured by the the DeTomaso Mangusta (mongoose), an Italian midengine 2-seater with a Ford V8, but it wasn't quite up to the forthcoming USA safety and emission standards, so Ford approached DeTomaso about co-producing a sucessor: the PANTERA (Panther).

The Pantera used a 330 hp 351 Cleveland V8, mounted behind the seats, but in front of the rear wheels (rear-mid-engine). This is the standard for Formula One Racing, because it offers near 50/50 weight distribution, but with a slight rear bias which is considered to be the best for acceleration, handling, and braking, especially with a rear wheel drive car.

The Pantera is no longer being produced, but its sucessor, the Guara, is. Also, although the Guara is an awesome car, Americans love the styling, name, and Ford V8 power of the Pantera. DeTomaso has a Pantera show car, and it just might return.
(1)
America needs a less expensive alternative to the Ford GT, Mosler MT900, and Saleen S7. Come on Ford, give the 'Vette a run for it's money!

The VERY FIRST Mustang (Mustang 1: driveable show car and pace car) was a midengine sportscar. How about a production FORD Mustang 1, and the return of the DeTomaso Pantera (sold by Lincoln-Mercury). You could use one platform for both.

(2)
I think the band PANTERA was named after the car.
