Other kinds of DAWs are Ableton Live, FL Studio and Pro Tools by AVID. The software package can only run on official copies of Mac OSX, as the authors of the software are Apple themselves. The current up-to-date version at this time is 10.4, hence why people will call it Logic Pro X, as Apple use a system of Roman numerals to make stuff sound cooler. Like the iPhone X is actually called the iPhone 10. The software costs £199.99 or $200.
